I’ve been obsessed with storytelling since I can remember.
In elementary school, I made my own illustrated storybook. In high school, I joined the forensics team doing monologues and debates. At Howard University, I was the campus editor of the school’s newspaper, The Hilltop, and started the school’s first magazine.
Now, I’ve made it a real job.
Most recently, I was the editorial director at the black-owned beauty brand Topicals, leading their storytelling around campaign shoots and product launches.
Previously, I was the fashion and beauty director at Teen Vogue where I oversaw all style content, ideated all photoshoots including cover stories, and started the young designer incubator program, Generation Next.
I even did a side project with my best friend called The High Ends, where we told stories about creative women who smoked weed.
As a consultant, my clients have included Epi Logic, UrbanSkinRx, Essence Magazine, and more. My writing has appeared in New York Magazine, Complex, SSENSE, Lenny Letter, and Vogue.
