Hi! My name is Tahirah Hairston. I am a journalist, critic, and essayist whose work examines race, class, and taste through the lens of fashion and culture. I grew up in Detroit and I now live in BedStuy with my dog Yohji.

Over the past decade, my reporting and criticism has appeared in New York Magazine, The Cut, T Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar, Cultured, Highsnobiety, among others. Previously, I was the fashion and beauty director at Teen Vogue and the deputy editor at Lenny Letter. In 2024, I launched my newsletter, Ridiculous Little Things, about taste and desire.
